Story :  

Inaugurated in 2007, the new Wembley Stadium was rebuilt on the remains of the old stadium from 1923, which had already been demolished. It is the second largest stadium in Europe behind Camp Nou.  

Currently, this stadium hosts meetings of the English selection (football or rugby), as well as the Premier League club: Tottenham Hotspur. In 2012, it hosted the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

Popular player:  

David Beckham: British international footballer who played as a midfielder. With 115 caps, he is the third most capped player in England history. He was named the best European player in 1995 and is considered one of the best English midfielders in history. In 2003, he was made an honorary Knight of the Order of the British Empire.

 

Schedule of the visit:  

During the circuit of your visit, you enter the changing rooms where legendary players such as Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling or Marcus Rashford change. In addition, you discover the press room, the presidential box and the entrance tunnel to the field.  

The stadium tour also offers you a visit to the Wembley Museum, which contains unique trophies, shirts and photos from the history of the sport.

Old Trafford (Manchester)

Story :  

Prior to 1902, Manchester United was known as Newton Health. The club played their first matches at North Road and Bank Street, but both grounds were in poor condition. In 1909, the new president John Henry Davies decided to build a new stadium. It is the architect Archibald Leitch, who is responsible for the design of the stadium. The stadium was inaugurated on February 19, 1910, Manchester United welcomed Liverpool.

During the Second World War, the army commandeered Old Trafford and used it as a depot. Football matches continued to be played there until the German bombings of 1940 which damaged the stadium. Subsequently, Old Trafford underwent a series of major upgrades and expansions.

Popular player:  

Ryan Giggs: Welsh international footballer who spent his entire sporting career as a midfielder at Manchester United. At international level, he played for the selection of Wales from the age of seventeen, making him the youngest player to represent his country. In 2011, he was voted Manchester United's best player of all time by Red Devils fans. He still holds the record for most assists in Premier League history (162 assists).

The visit is supervised by a local guide, who will tell you many anecdotes about the stadium. You will be able to explore all the essential places closed to the public: stands, changing rooms, press rooms... The club museum which extends over three floors of the stand houses dazzling trophies, presentations of key figures in the history of Manchester United, kits worn by players from the past decades, as well as exhibitions tracing the history of the stadium.

Anfield Stadium (Liverpool)

Story :  

Anfield was built in 1884 and was first home to Everton Blues, Liverpool's first club. But because the rent was too expensive, the chairman of Everton decided to leave Anfield and build his own stadium. In order not to end up with a stadium on his hands, the owner of Anfield then launched the idea of creating another club which would evolve at Anfield. This is how the Liverpool Football Club, nicknamed the Reds, was born on March 15, 1892. In the 1901 season, the Reds won their first league title.
Very quickly, Anfield will expand and for Liverpool's second English title, in 1906, the capacity of the stadium rises to 32,000 thanks, in particular, to the inauguration of a new stand. Over the years, the face of Anfield evolves and grows.

Popular player:  

Virgil van Dijk: Dutch central defender, he was recruited in the winter of 2018 by Liverpool FC and became the most expensive defender in history. At the Reds, he played in two Champions League finals in his first two seasons and won the competition in 2019. Also in 2019, he was ranked second in the Ballon d'Or and is considered the best defender and the best player in Europe.
